ABOUT PHIL

Phil is a graphic designer who has recently started to write and illustrate children's books using a block-art style featuring the unique Nepali lokta paper. He completed a master of arts in graphic design in 2019.

Phil has lived in Kathmandu, Nepal since 2011 together with his wife Pratiksha and their dogs Zuzu, Harrison and Luna. They are preparing to leave for new adventures in a different country from mid 2021.

“All I’ve ever been any good at is making paper dirty. It’s what I’ve always done, and it’s good to have at least one skill!”

During lockdown in 2020, Phil was ‘stranded’ in the UK. It was during this time that he started to design ‘The Lokta Illustrated Bible’. He got to work on ‘Creation’, always with a mind on doing as many stories as he could.

The next chapter, ‘The First Family’, covers God’s creation of Adam & Eve in Eden, their ‘fall’ and banishment from the garden, the story of Cain & Abel, and finally, the birth of Seth.

It is hoped that ‘The First Family’ will be published in August 2021.
